Friday 4th December

Today we explore our own relationship to the present-day ACCA, and return to the vision of Dr. Walter Eysselinck (Director of the Centre, 1960s). In its suspended state, how can ACCA re-connect to its heart? Where does the heart of the building lie in the first place? Why do we care about the Arts Centre at all?

For the best viewing experience, we recommend using headphones.

Please Think About This Very Carefully

A child writes a letter in the attempt to save the building. Is this letter proof of the ways in which the arts impact people’s lives? By taking away versatile venues like the Arts Centre, the memories of pantomimes past are taken with it. What about the Pudding Pirates?

Drive-in Theatre

When a Grade Two listed building is falling apart, the baker always comes to the rescue. Isn’t that how the story goes? Norma Binnie (Director of Arts Centre, 1980/1990s) got the blame, but she also got her windows! I wonder what other tales the archives remember?

Running Out of Time

We are approaching the end of our journey. The building has told us so many stories and now we want to tell a story to the building. But this is not a love letter, no. This is a reflection. A reflection on our own relationship with the Arts Centre and the important place it holds in our lives.
